About
our Club
The
American Czech-Slovak Cultural Club (ACSCC) was founded in 1949. The clubhouse is located
on 3.5 tropical acres adjoining Arch Creek, in North Miami,
Florida. The purpose of ACSCC is to further the Czech and
Slovak cultures, customs, traditions and food in South Florida.
Our
restaurant is open for dinner every Sunday from
noon to 6:00 PM. Dinner entrees featured are roast duck, roast
loin of pork, and several other fine Czech/Slovak favorites.
The entire menu can be found on our
current Calendar of Events.
All dinners include soup, salad, entree, Czech dumplings,
sauerkraut, coffee and dessert. Homemade desserts are often
served.
Our
bar is open on Sundays from noon 'til ..?, and
Saturdays from 7:00 PM to ...? PM. . The bar serves Pilsner
Urquell, Staropramen, and Beck's beers plus wines, coolers
and soft drinks.
Our
clubhouse is available for special ocassions. For

Everyone
is welcome
to
visit our Club on any Sunday afternoon to enjoy good food
and drink in an Old European atmosphere. Please

THE
NATIONAL CZECH & SLOVAK MUSEUM FLOODED
The
National Czech & Slovak Muesum, in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa was flooded by several feet of water from Cedar
River during the period of June13-14 along with much
of the city of Cedar Rapids and surrounding area. There
is still no estimate of the damage to the museum or
its contents, but it is expected to be considerable.

DR.
CECILIA ROKUSEK NAMED HONORARY SLOVAK CONSUL FOR FLORIDA
On
Friday, June 13 member Dr. Cecilia Rokusek was offically
apporinted Honorary Slovak Consul for Florida by Slovak
Ambassador Rastislav Káčer. The ceremony took place
at a reception and dinner held at the ACSCC clubhouse.

"PLASTIC
PEOPLE OF THE UNIVERSE" TO PERFORM
Vaclav
Havel's favorite rock band, the legendary Czech, "Plastic
People of the Universe" is scheduled to perform
at our club on Saturday. September 27, 2008. More
details as they become available.

MOTHER'S
DAY CELEBRATION
On Sunday,
May 11, 2008 the club will honored all Mothers. but especially
those that are members of ACSCC. Chef Dusek presented three
special dishes in honor of the occasion, plus his standard
menu. All Mothers recieved a complimentary glass of wine and
a flower. In additon there was a cultural presentation honoring
all Mothers during the afternoon. Please see the Mother's

MISS
CZECH-SLOVAK FLORIDA 2008 PAGEANT - CANCELLED
The Miss
Czech-Slovak Florida 2008 Pageeant originally scheduled
for Saturday, April 26, 2008 at our club has been

EASTER FUN FOR THE KIDS
The American
Czech-Slovak Cultural Club held an Easter Party for children
on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 at 2:00 PM. There
was an Easter egg hunt, a bounce house, an Easter decoration
contest and more. Please see the

ZABÍJAČKA
On Sunday,
March 2nd, the American Czech-Slovak Cultural Club held a
Zabíjačka. You could have a traditional Zabíjačka dinner, with
all the "trimmings" or the standard Sunday menu was also available.

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY
The American
Czech-Slovak Cultural Club held a New Year's Eve Party this
year. The party started at 8:00 PM on December 31st, included
a traditional Czech-Slovak Goose dinner, with all the trimmings.

SANTA CAME TO TOWN (ACSCC)
Santa came
to town at ACSCC two days early this year. On Sunday, December
23rd Santa (Luboš Gurtler) and his elves (Alexandra and Kristina
Berková) made an appearance at the club and personally handed
out all of the presents under our Christmas tree.. Many thanks
to Martina Kmoch for putting this very nice event together.

MIKULÁŠ
(ST. NICHOLAS DAY)
It's that
time of year again. Mikuláš and his friends visited our club
on Sunday, December 9th. There was a party for the
children with games and crafts and fun. Mikuláš was there
with the Angel and the Devil, and he gave each of the children
a gift. For photos of the event see the Mikuláš

ČECHOMOR
A SMASH HIT AT ACSCC
On Saturday,
September 30, 2006, Čechomor played to a record crowd (for
ACSCC) of over 200 wild fans. The old clubhouse was rocking,
the walls were shaking, the lights were flashing and the audience
was screaming for more...and they got more. It was a truly
